This department is responsible for the enforcement of the latest editions of the international building, plumbing, electrical, gas, mechanical and housing codes. enforcement of the city of cedartown code of ordinances.

In the administration of the codes, the department is responsible for the examination of building plans, processing permits applications, issuing permits, collections of fees and scheduling of inspections to decide code compliance. We issue certificates of occupancy upon compliance with local and state regulations.
