The City of Cedartown Cemeteries Department is responsible for the year-round maintenance, selling of grave lots and maintaining the permanent records of all city cemeteries. The City of Cedartown has four cemeteries and they are Northview, Greenwood, Southview and the Asa Prior family lot located on Brooks Street.
In all four cemeteries, we maintain 20,000 graves on 43 acres. All cemetery lots are $750 each (price effective August 1, 2008.) Lots are available in the Northview and Greenwood cemeteries.
In 2011, the Cedartown Cemetery Preservation Association was created by the City Commission. Download a copy of the application here.

The Parks Department is responsible for the year-round maintenance at the City Parks. They are Peeks Park and the Big Springs.
Peeks Park - This beautiful city park, which was built on land donated by Captain J.A. Peek, is located on North College Street in Cedartown. It features tennis courts, picnic areas and a $250,000 state-of-the-art playground, fully funded and constructed by local citizens and volunteers.
Big Springs - This park is home to the second largest natural limestone spring in the southern United States. The original white settlers who moved into this area of northwest Georgia centered their activities around this spring, calling their town "Big Spring". Asa Prior purchased the land around Big Spring in 1834. In 1852, Prior deeded the spring and adjacent land to the newly charted city of Cedartown. It is now the major supplier of water for the residents of Cedartown. In 2011, the Big Springs was named a certified site on the Trail of Tears, as it was the Cherokee Removal site in 1838.
