The 2009 City of Cedartown Christmas Parade is scheduled for Thursday, December 3^th at 6:00 P.M. with a rain date of Saturday, December 5^th at 11:00 A.M.  The theme for this year is “HOME FOR CHRISTMAS”.

It is a time for all of us to get into the spirit of Christmas, to unite for a festive and joyous occasion. Also, it is an excellent opportunity for your organization to make up to $500.00 in prize money.  All parade float entries will be judged on the parade theme of “Home for Christmas”. This year we will have three categories. Category 1 will be a CHURCH DIVISION with a first, second and third place.  Category 2 will be an OPEN DIVISION with a first, second and third place.  Category 3 will be for the MOST OUTSTANDING DIVISION with only first place.  The first place prize is $500.00, the second place prize is $300.00, and the third place prize is $200.00 for each division.

The parade route will be from Marietta Street to the Badcock Furniture parking lot behind Wendy’s on North Main Street.

If you do enter a float, we insist that you PLEASE DO NOT HAVE A SANTA CLAUS on your float or THROW CANDY TO THE CHILDREN.  We have a Santa on a float at the end of the parade and more than one Santa will confuse the children.
